IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems

Instructions for Authors

  1. The first step is to register as an author. If you already have a username and password, this step is not necessary.

  2. The next step is to log in at the start page with your username and password. This brings up a page containing a number of links. To submit a paper to the IEEE Transactions on VLSI, follow the link marked Submit a Paper to TVLSI.

  3. After filling out the Submit Paper form, you will be asked to verify the information entered. You will also be prompted for the name of a postscript file containing your manuscript. The file must first be transferred to TVLSI's ftp directory. Instructions on transferring the file are available. The review process will be significantly expedited if your paper is available as postscript. If you cannot give us postscript, then please contact:

  4. Wait until the system indicates that the submission process is complete; this may take up to a minute. Then go back to the start page and log in using your username and password. Click on the links named Check Review Status, Retrieve/Update Contact Information and Retrieve Postscript, Abstract, Reviews to make sure that the submission was completed successfully.

  5. It takes about six months to reach a decision about a paper. You will be informed about the decision via e-mail. In the meantime, you are welcome to use the Check Review Status form to check on the review status of your paper. To do this, you will first have to log in at the start page with your username and password.
